Saki from DoubleAnd Interview

During the evening of the Manchester gig of the Indie, Idol and Infamous tour I managed to grab myself a few minutes with Saki from DoubleAnd for a little interview. After retreating to the back of the Night and Day Cafe venue, nerves rising high, I met up with DoubleAnd and here is what she had to say!

What are some of your favourite things about the UK?

It’s exciting to hear people speak English and see the English culture. There are many beautiful buildings and UK sweets are very delicious. I like chocolate!

Do you find yourself getting homesick whilst touring? If so how do you deal with it?

I don’t get homesick I can sleep anywhere and I enjoy eating the local foods. It’s so much fun that I can’t feel homesick!

What was your first thought when you found out you would be performing on the Indie, Idol and Infamous tour?

My first thoughts were “REALLY?!” I was so excited to reach out to the UK. This time I can perform longer setlists. I’m excited to travel to the UK with Garuda and Hanako-san for the first time.

What inspired you to become an idol?

Since high school I have been a big fan of Japanese pop music and Hello! Project. I love gymnastics too and on stage I can do two of the things that I love!

What is your current relationship with REDMusic in Japan?

REDMusic, who also do VDC magazine in Japan, are a free magazine in Japan. They will help me to produce new music. I will continue to manage my own activities independently. I’m looking forward to the future!

I know you are currently studying English, what is your favourite thing about learning another language?

I have been studying English since last summer. Recently I can talk to many fans in English and it’s so much fun!

What is something you would like to say to all of your British and other overseas fans?

Thank you for all your support! Recently I have started using Facebook in English and I love reading everyone’s comments. I’m so happy my music can reach everyone overseas.
